Concerned netizen and veteran lawyer, Atty. Spocky Farolan made an interesting expose and comparison between the donations of the controversial Ligo Sardines against the donations made by Mega Sardines, San Miguel Corporation and Tictoc.
The veteran lawyer called out Ligo Sardines who donated around 20,000 cans of sardines which is only equivalent to P500,000 in terms of retail prices in various groceries and supermarkets nationwide.
When compared to Mega Sardines, the P500,000 donations of Ligo is way behind on Mega Sardines P50 Million worth of donations. The lawyer also compared the half a million donations by Ligo to SMC's P100 Million donations and Tictoc's P50 Million donations to the national government.
Yesterday, the Office of the Vice President, VP Leni Robredo announced on social media that Ligo Sardines Philippines sends 20,000 cans of their product to the Office of the Vice President amid the Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine.
Some netizens, particularly the supporters of Pres. Rody Duterte on social media slammed Ligo Philippines for coursing their efforts to the Vice President's Office and not directly to the people because netizens could suspect that they are having their own political agenda.
Here's the Complete Post of Atty. Spocky Farolan:
Pagmamalaki mo 20,000 CANS of sardines mo, e nasa PhP500,000 lang yan at retail price sa grocery. Yan na ba yung advertising budget na pinagmamalaki niyo? 'tung mga 'to talaga.
