Veteran lawyer and prominent social media personality who is best known for his unbiased support to Pres. Rody Duterte issued a statement of endorsing one of the country's most popular doctor on social media, Dr. Willie Ong, who has more than 9 million followers on Facebook alone and running for senator in the 2019 national election.
According to Atty. Rivera he has been vocal about the senators he loves like Bong Go, Ronald Dela Rosa, Imee Marcos, JV Ejercito, Francis Tolentino, Cynthia Villar, and Nancy Binay but has been quiet about Doc Willie Ong.
One of the reasons why he doesn't want to mention Doc Willie Ong is because of the fact that the doctor had more than 9 million followers and his endorsement would be irrelevant and he is also afraid that one day, Ong will become a target of bashers.
Atty. Rivera stated that when he saw Doc Willie Ong up close and personal, his emotions got the best for him. First of all, Doc Willie was so happy to see Atty. Rivera because he watches Rivera's live videos even the ones where he's in the bathtub, but what captured him is the sincerity in the eyes of Doc Willie.
The veteran lawyer noted that he saw the frustration of Dr. Willie Ong and his wife for they were not helping enough. Atty. Rivera also saw the sweet surrender to public service that he knows he may lose the race but it is not the victory that matters but the chance to serve his nation and even wish he can be a tenth of the human being he is.

But I have been quiet about Doc Willie. For two reasons, he has 9M followers so sino ba naman ako para i-endorse siya and I was also afraid that if I help put him in the radar, he will be victimized and picked on so early. Remember, two year ago, many were saying I am running for the Senate that was why I was travelling a lot. And I was bashed and smeared kahit na napaka-insignificant ko. Kailangan ko pa magpagirl ng bonggang-bongga for the people not to see me a serious candidate. I do not want that to happen to the good doctor because he does not deserve it. And, to a certain degree, I deserved the hatred because I was inadvertently calling attention by my presposterousity.
However, Doc Willie gained his following slowly but surely. He did not become popular using Duterte or anybody but his own innate relevance and goodwill. He did not do so by exposing people, cussing people, creating fights and being a diva. He did gain his following by being positive and kind. That is something DDS Bloggers like me cannot do because the crux of our audience likes negativity. And I quietly respect him for that.
When he guested in Boljak at Radyo Singko 92.3 News FM, I saw him up close and personal and my emotions got the best of me. First of all, he was happy to see me because he watched my live videos even the ones where I am in the bathtub.
