Veteran San Beda lawyer and prominent supporter of Pres. Rody Duterte on social media, Atty. Bruce Rivera slammed ACT-Teachers Partylist Representative Antonio Tinio for criticizing the President's visit to Hong Kong.
According to Atty Rivera, he is really concerned with the way Rep. Tinio, one of the partylist of Makabayan bloc who was also accused by Mayor Sara as terrorist supporters, for unsolicited questions against the President but kept his silence once the members of the Liberal Party were enjoying their vacations or travels to other countries.
There is something wrong with Rep. Tinio's statement against the President, although he could claim it as part of his freedom of expression, but his question is indeed stupid and pandering aside from being unfair.
Atty. Rivera asked.
Here's the Complete Statement of Atty. Rivera:
ACT Partylist Rep. Tinio,
Hindi ko na sana papatulan ito pero you are representing a sector close to my heart, teachers. So, I weep if people like you are representing educators because your sector plays an important part in educating our future leaders.
What is wrong with this statement? I mean, you can claim it within your freedom of expression to ask these questions but as teachers, our role is to ask proper and pertinent questions. Questions that make sense. Questions that are not stupid and pandering. After all, hindi ka naman tindero ng taho na kakaunti ang kaalaman sa buhay.
First of all, the question is unfair. Technically, your time is taxpayers time and if you extend to take a side trip, part of the trip becomes a private trip and therefore, ang binayaran ng gobyerno na ticket papunta sa original destination ay technically should be partly public funds and the rest should be shouldered by the official. Kasi dapat after the official trip ay uuwi na dapat kayo at hindi pupunta sa ibang lugar in your personal capacity.
Secondly, you are insulting our President. Hindi po sa pagmamayabang pero kumpara po sa inyo, PRD has more money than you. Honeylet also has money. They can spend for a Hong Kong trip. There are numerous ways of making sure no peoples money will be spent in a trip which was not even an OFFICIAL trip. Ginagawa ba yan?
Thirdly, Cong.
Kanto Tinio. Kanto Tinio. Kanto Tinio na!!!!
