France to Donate an Off-Shore Patrol Vessel & Four Patrol Boats to the Philippines


#GoodNews Pilipinas. Another good news for the Filipino people or the people of the Philippines under the leadership of Pres. Rody Duterte as the French government decided to donate and deliver a total of four (4) patrol boats and one (1) off-shore patrol vessel in the next few months for the Philippine government under the administration of Pres. Duterte.


The four patrol boats and the lone off-shore patrol vessel will be used as an additional maritime vehicles for the Philippine Coast Guard. These vessels will be utilized in maintaining the safety and security of the Philippine Maritime borders, preventing acts of piracy or terrorism within the country's exclusive economic zone.

According to the Department of Transportation who announced the good news through their official social media site, the four patrol boats will be delivered by the French government before end of June 2018 while the lone off-shore patrol vessel will be delivered by the European superpower on August 2018.

The OCEA Officials told the DOTr team headed by Asec. Lino Dabi, that after the successful inspection of the OCEA ship-building facilities in France, the DOTr announced the good news to the Filipino public on social media.

The initiative for the acquisition of the French-made patrol vessels is part of the Philippine Ports and Coast Guard Capability Development Project between the governments of the Philippines and France, all for the improvement of Philippines' overall maritime protection.
