RJ Nieto (ThinkingPinoy) Invited by the Senate as Resource Person on Fake News Investigation


Blogger and DFA consultant Rey Joseph Nieto or more popularly known as Thinking Pinoy on social media was invited by the Philippine Senate as one of the resource person in the Senate Investigation about the proliferation of fake news in the Philippines.


According to the letter received by Nieto from the Philippine Senate, he was invitof the Committee ed as one of the resource person in the public hearing of the Committee on Public Information and Mass Media to be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 9:30 AM at the Philippine Senate in Pasay City.

The investigation is in aid of legislation of the Senate Resolution No. 315 by Sen. Antonio Trillanes, Senate Resolution No. 271 by Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and Senate Resolution No. 259. All resolutions urged the Senate to conduct an inquiry in aid of legislation on the massive proliferation of false, erroneous, distorted, fabricated and or misleading news and information on social media and other sites.

ThinkingPinoy also made an expose about the former PCOO Web Admin for Security during the Aquino admin, Cocoy Dayao who is allegedly behind the controversial Facebook Page, Pinoy Ako Blog and its website that made a name for itself as one of the most vocal critics of the Duterte administration on social media.

Aside from naming Cocoy Dayao as the possible person allegedly behind the controversial PinoyAkoBlog, RJ Nieto also revealed to his more than half-a-million followers that all the Anti-Duterte Pages were having only two Google Publisher accounts which means it is only managed by one or two persons or a group of two individuals.
