International Political Analyst Reveals the Real Story of Scarborough Shoal Showing PNoy's Blunder

International political analyst and a well-known supporter of Pres. Rody Duterte on social media, Sass Rogando Sasot revealed the real story about the Scarborough Shoal showing former Pres. Aquino's blunder with the issue.

According to Sasot the notion that Scarborough Shoal has been "sold" to China and that it's no longer ours is total baloney. The political analyst noted that even though he hate Trillanes to the bones saying that we "lost" Scarborough to China because it was "sold" by Trillanes is total nonsense and a product of ignorance of international relations and diplomacy.

Sass Sasot revealed two reasons why, Trillanes or the Aquino administration could not be sold to China, first it it was not sold because once we sold the shoal to China, then the Philippines ceded the shoal, cession through purchase is recognized by international law as a valid transfer of territory.

Secondly, if the Philippines sold Scarborough to China, one cannot give what one doesn't have. Philippines selling the Scarborough Shoal to China entails China accepting that the shoal is ours, and China will never do that.

Sass Sasot also revealed the biggest blunder of the Aquino administration in dealing with the controversial Scarborough Shoal issue, it was the Philippines under the order of PNoy who first bullied China and they were just retaliating from the Filipinos actions in the Scarborough.

The Aquino Administration destroyed that modus vivendi when in 2012 it sent the biggest warship of the Philippines to confront Chinese civilian ships. In response, China sent its navy, which of course overpowered us.

Here's the Complete Revelations of Sass Rogando Sasot:

END THIS BALONEY

The notion that Scarborough Shoal has been "sold" to China and that it's no longer ours is total baloney. And even though I hate Trillanes to the bones, saying that we "lost" Scarborough to China because it was "sold" by Trillanes is total nonsense and a product of ignorance of international relations and diplomacy.

For two damning reasons:

FIRST REASON: if PH through the negotiation with Trillanes "sold" the Scarborough Shoal to CN, then PH ceded the shoal to CN. Cession through purchase is recognized by international law as a valid transfer of territory, such as the Alaska purchase US made with Russia.
If CN "bought" Scarborough Shoal, there's no effing reason it would hide this. By revealing if that really happened, CN would have made its life easier! CN would just declare it as their own through the cession that PH did through the negotiations conducted by Trillanes.
But China will never buy the Shoal from the Philippines because...

SECOND REASON: "Nemo dat quod non habet" - one cannot give what one doesn't have. PH selling the Scarborough Shoal to CN entails China accepting that the shoal is ours in the first place. Something that CN will never do.

What happened to Scarborough Shoal is that we lost our millenial old tacit modus vivendi with China regarding the shoal. Both our fishermen used to freely enjoy the shoal peacefully together. Stories abound of friendship between Chinese and Filipino fishermen operating within the vicinity of the shoal. However, the Aquino Administration destroyed that modus vivendi when in 2012 it sent the biggest warship of the Philippines to confront Chinese civilian ships. In response, China sent its navy, which of course overpowered us.

What Bobi Tiglao wrote about this in June 2017 in The Manila Times is quite illuminating:
"There has never been any attempt from both Chinese and Filipino forces there to impose their sovereignty over the shoal. Vessels and fishermen from both countries routinely entered the lagoon usually for refuge from storms, as if there were no dispute over who owned it.

That changed with Aquino. On April 11, Aquino sent the naval warship, the BRP Gregorio del Pilar, to confront two civilian China Maritime Surveillance ships (CMS, under the State Oceanic Administration) in the shoal that foiled our Coast Guard and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources’ attempt to arrest Chinese fishermen they claimed were illegally fishing in the area.
Aquino ordered the BRP Gregorio del Pilar to leave the area to get out the next day when he was told of his blunder: by sending a warship, he had militarized the dispute.

But it was too late. It gave the Chinese the casus belli—the justification— to mobilize to completely take over Scarborough. Some 10 CMS ships entered the lagoon, and with them a flotilla of 31 fishing boats and dinghies to portray to their citizens that it was a sea version of people power against a bullying nation that prevented Chinese fishermen from earning a living, and in an area China “owned” for more than a century."
