Kadamay Tries to Occupy Mangahan Residences Housing Project but Failed


The controversial group Kadamay made headlines anew as they were accused by the residents of Mangahan Residences Housing Project of the National Housing Authority of trying to occupy their place.



Some Kadamay members explained during the said altercations between the residents and their group that they went there just to inspect some buildings who were reportedly using substandard materials that could endanger all residents in the area.

Kadamay was accompanied by Gabriela Party-List Rep. Arlene Brosas when they tried to allegedly occupy the housing project, particularly one of the buildings but they were repulsed the residents and homeowners of the said building.

The residents of Mangahan closed the gate and they did not allow any members of Kadamay to enter the area.

According to some residents who were interviewed by the media, they feared for a possible occupation of Kadamay, particularly the vacant units inside the 15 buildings as what they have previously done in Bulacan.

The controversial Pro-Poor Group, evacuated the area after some peaceful negotiations with the residents of the area, but the tensions were really felt by both camps. Kadamay then made a short program in a vacant lot in Floodway.

The Mangahan Residences is a project of the National Housing Authority and Pasig Local Government Unit. The housing units were given to bonafide beneficiaries who will pay P800.00 per month, for a total of 30 years.
