PCI Jovie Espenido Willing to be Reassigned to Region 7 Particularly in Cebu

Police Chief Inspector (PCI) Jovie Espenido revealed on Saturday that he is willing to be reassigned to Central Visayas Region particularly in the province of Cebu. The statement of Espenido was released during a gathering with his religious group.

The Ozamiz City Police Chief spoke in a religious program of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at Miller Hospital in Cebu City. He stated that he prayed to God to be reassigned to Cebu because he is one of the product of the Province.

PCI Espenido noted further that it will be easier for him to solve crimes once he will be assigned to Cebu because he is familiar with the place  and he really trusts in God's will.

According to the former Albuera, Leyte Police Chief, he would welcome an assignment in Cebu or anywhere, for as long as there's a challenge.

Espenido also discourages unnecessary means in the campaign against illegal drugs. In his speech, Espenido said that PNP Chief Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa asked him to admit to the allegation that he had received P20,000 from suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa in Albuera, Leyte.

He said that certain generals made the accusations against him. "But in the end, the truth prevailed through God's guidance. Jovie didn't accept any drug money," Espenido said.

PCI Jovie Espenido was the officer who led the drug raids in the Parojinog residences last July 30 that killed Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., his wife, and 14 others. The raid in Ozamiz City also resulted in the capture and arrest of Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog, and brother Reynaldo Jr., over drug related charges.
