Former Scout Ranger's Lectures Sen. Trillanes on How to Fulfill His Job as a Senator

Senator Antonio Trillanes, a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) got some interesting lessons from a fellow PMA graduates and a veteran Scout Ranger on how to fulfill his real job as a Senator of the Republic.

Former Scout Ranger and a veteran intelligence officer of the Philippine Army lectured Sen. Antonio Trillanes on how to do his real mandate as a lawmaker after he openly criticized the administration of Pres. Duterte who is not part of his mandate.

According Abe Purugganan, Pres. Rody Duterte is the head of state and he is mandated to govern for the best interest of the Filipino people as he makes policies that are necessary and rallies or commands government services available to him including Congress to accomplish his job.

Sen. Trillanes should learn to respect the mandate of Pres. Duterte, if he will not respect him as a person, Trillanes should respect the office of the President.

Sir Abe also noted that the job of Sen. Trillanes is to make laws for the best interest of our people and as a lawmaker, he should have taken cue from the policy statements of the Head of the State, and author or sponsor national security related bills to support these policies.

Here's the Complete Open Letter of Sir Abe Purugganan:

To Mr Trillianes:

You are out of tune and out of line.

Pres Duterte is the head of a state and he is mandated to govern for the best interest of the Filipino people. He makes policies that are necessary and rallies or commands government resources available to him including Congress to accomplish his job. You should learn to respect that. You may not respect him as a person but respect the office.

On the other hand, your job is to make laws for the best interest of our people. As a lawmaker, you should have taken cue from the policy statements of the Head of the State , and author or sponsor national security related bills to support these policies.

As former soldier you should be more sensitive and keen to national security needs and matters affecting our people today. So rather than grandstanding, blabbing, criticizing, and meddling in the job of the executive branch, you must be responsive and subservient to the will of our people. And like a plebe, be very snappy and very fast in doing your legislative mandate by sponsoring bills to support national security policies to make government more responsive on the challenges that our nation is facing today.

As a senator of the state, you do not work for your party or for the opposition, you work for us, the Filipino people. We pay you to make laws for us. Don't you ever forget that. Therefore, it is in our best interest that you focus on your legislative job and fulfill your mandate.

And taking cue from the policy statements of the President who represent the Filipino people, our will is for you and other senators to do the following and keep yourself busy and in tuned and aligned with your legislative mandate:

1- Sponsor the passage of the National Security Code

2- Sponsor a bill amending the Partylist law to disqualify all communist legal front organizations.

3 - Author a bill declaring the CPP/NPA/NDF as terrorist organization.

4- Petition the government of Netherlands thru the EU parliament to cancel the asylum granted to Joma Sison and party.

5- File cases of human rights abuses and criminals acts against Joma Sison and the CPP/NPA/NDG at the UNCHR, ICC including the US Congress.

6- Author a bill for the allocation of funds for the emergency procurement of modern weapons for the AFP and PNP.

7- Author a bill for the modernization of our nation's intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.

8- Author a bill for a Self Reliance Program for the modernization of the AFP.

However if you are confused in understanding your position, I suggest you visit the academy and run around the parade ground, or go under your table, or face a wall, or go on leave to contemplate and perhaps come to realization of who you really are as a senator.
