Syjuco Accused Sen. Drilon of Using Stepdaughter as Dummy to Acquire Forbes Park Mansion

An old issue resurface anew on social media accusing Sen. Franklin Drilon of using his stepdaughter as dummy to acquire a P50-million Forbes Park Mansion based on accusations thrown against him by former TESDA Chief Augusto Syjuco Jr.

The controversial issue against Sen. Drilon was brought about by former Iloilo Congressman Syjuco in an open letter submitted to the senators in relations to the investigation carried out by the Senate due to the involvement of the senator in an allegedly overpriced Iloilo Convention Center (ICC) Project.

Sen. Drilon already debunked the issue which according to Syjuco "In 2004, a Miss Eduarda S. Genuino acquired a 1,542-square-meter mansion worth P50 million in Forbes Park, an enclave for the rich in Makati City.

The acquisition of Sen. Drilon's stepdaughter was made 10 years ago based upon the statement made by Syjuco last 2014.

According to Syjuco, Miss Genuino, aged only in her 20s at that time, is a step daughter of Sen. Franklin Drilon. She was as simple wage earner then, and could not, on her own, produce that amount of money.

When Genuino acquired this property, she was "single" and she listed as her address the house of Sen. Drilon at 49 Polk Street, North Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila.

Syjuco also added that "Many are appalled that Drilon could have corrupted this young and innocent (girl), allegedly teaching her to be in 'cahoots' with him in consummated money laundering," said Syjuco.
