Journalist Lambasts Sen. De Lima for Asking Senate's Furlough to Vote for Crucial Landmark Legislations

Detained lawmaker, Sen. Leila de Lima has asked the Philippine Senate through the office of the Senate Pres. Koko Pimentel to allow her to participate and vote in crucial landmark legislation by giving furlough to her while detained at the PNP Custodial Center.

Sen. de Lima sent the letter to the Senate last May 11, 2017 as the senator cited Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV as an example of a lawmaker who was allowed to participate in legislation while in detention but journalist Jojo Robles doesn't agree with what Sen. de Lima did for asking the Senate give her furlough.

According to Jojo Robles, Sen. de Lima is indeed a detainee on a non-bailable charge and not yet convicted but she should not forget tat during her term as Justice Secretary she did the same thing to the three senators although they were not convicted yet.

The three senators, were also deprived of the privilege of dispensing their official duties as senators and the two remains to be her neighbors-in-detention in Camp Crame. Sen. De Lima asked furlough because according to her, detained senators were granted furloughs by the court so they can attend birthdays.

Here's the Complete Statement of Jojo Robles:

Leila, Leila, Leila. You plead that you should be given a furlough to vote in the Senate because you are just a detainee on a non-bailable charge and not yet convicted.

The "not yet convicted" part is true. But you forget -- too conveniently -- that you jailed three senators as justice secretary and uttered not a peep when they were also deprived of the privilege of dispensing their official duties as senators.

Of the three, two are still your neighbors-in-detention in Camp Crame. And they still have not been convicted, either.

Repeat after me, Manay: Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma Chamelee-on.
