Gov. Imee Marcos Challenges Dr. Callamard to Take Shabu for a Week to Prove Her Claim


Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, the daughter of former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos challenged United Nations Special rapporteur Dr. Agnes Callamard who recently claimed that shabu does not cause brain damage.


The veteran politician, Gov. Marcos challenge Dr. Callamard to take shabu for a week to prove her claim that it does not cause brain damage or cause violence to its users.

Gov. Marcos' challenge was made through her May 9 column for Bulgar and she said that Callamard must prove her claims and take the illegal drug for once a day for one week.

She was quoted as aying "Kung wala naman palang scientific evidence na nakakabaliw itong shabu, bakit hindi ito ipasubok sa kanya? Pabatakin kaya ang ale na yan ng shabu! Sige, kahit one batak a day na lang for one week o kahit isang buwan at tingnan natn kung walang epek." Imee Marcos wrote.


The governor of Ilocos Norte also believe that Dr. Callamard might already an illegal drug user. She was quoted as saying "O baka naman gumagamit na siya nito kaya wala siyang nakikitang diperenya. Wa' epek sa kanya, ganun?" she added.

UN Special Rapporteur visited the Philippines recently and made a controversial statement during an academic forum wherein she quoted Dr. Carl Hart, a professor in University of Columbia that "there is no evidence shabu leads to violence or causes brain damage’

Most Filipino netizens took to social media as they debunked the claims of Dr. Callamard and Hart and they said there are lots of evidence that would prove that shabu is very dangerous to the brain of its user.
