OFWs Benefits on Pres. Rody Duterte's Middle East Visit Announce Upon Arrival (Viral Video)


The unsung heroes of the Philippines, the Overseas Filipino Workers worldwide benefited most from Pres. ROdy DUterte's state visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdome of Bahrain and the State of Qatar.



Pres. Rody Duterte delivered his remarks, upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAI) on April 17, 2017 at around 3:00 AM from his three-country state visit. The President highlighted some of the benefits intended for all OFWs in the Middle East.

The 72-year-old President who keeps on working despite the Holidays read a prepared speech and stressed some points but later on he veered away from the text.

Pres. Duterte brought with him a total of 138 OFWs who wanted to go home and availed of repatriation under Saudi Arabia's amnesty program.

Aside from bringing home the stranded OFWs from Saudi, Pres. Duterte revealed that a hospital for OFWs is being worked out with host nations in he Middle East.


Middle East is considered as the top destination of OFWs, with 56% or nearly 1.4 million Filipinos working based on the 2015 data from POEA.

Pres. Duterte also talked about P3, the entrepreneurial program of DTI, TESDA and DTI who will work hand in hand with the embassies so online training can be availed of by OFWs which could be used when they decide to go home for good.

The former Mayor of Davao City also noted that he will be there where the national interest is and the Middle East visit is considered as "the most productive trip ever."
