2 Million Job Vacancies Announced by DOLE in Celebration of Labor Day Under Pres. Duterte


President Rody Duterte promised during the election period that he will do his best to solve the unemployment problems in the Philippines, in order to solve the problems, the Duterte admin through the Department of Labor and Employment announced a total of 2 million job vacancies in a nationwide job fair in celebration of the Labor Day this coming May 1, 2017.



According to DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III, the highly anticipated Job Fair this coming Labor Day aims to reduce the rising problems of unemployment in the country.

Based upon the records of DOLE, the Philippines is now considered as one of the highest in unemployment problems in the ASEAN Region with an estimated 6 percent unemployment rate.

In Central Luzon alone around 10,000 job vacancies are now waiting for the right jobseekers who could immediately signed a job once they were accepted in various job fairs locations in Central Luzon.


The Duterte administration also announced that the national government's official web-based labor market information, job search, matching and referral portal, PhilJobNet recorded a total of 7,000 job vacancies being filled during the past few days.

Pres. Rody Duterte will celebrate the 2017 Labor Day and lead the May 1 activities in Davao City as announced by DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

DOLE also announced that there will be a total of 1,138 participating employers composed of 8 government agencies, 889 local companies, and 241 overseas employers.
