Pres. Duterte Slams Inquirer & ABS-CBN Dubbed the News Outlets as "Mukhang Pera"


The tough talking President of the Republic of the Philippines slams two of the country's largest news media network, Philippine Daily Inquirer and ABS-CBN News and even dubbed the two news outlets as "Mukhang Pera."


Pres. Duterte's statement was released to the general public during a speech in Malacanang Palace during the awarding ceremonies of the Go Negosyo Inspiring Filipina Entrepreneurs.

Ther former Mayor of Davao City described the owners of Inquirer and ABS-CBN as "oligarchs" and called them the scourges of society.

Pres. Duterte said that he understood the adversarial nature of journalism, but he could not accept "slanted" reports. "Journalism is always antagonistic, but do not put too much slant [in the reports] Duterte said.


The President also noted that "You smell bad. The Prietos, the Lopezes-you're full of shit," "These rich people, you think they’re so honest, respected members of society. These sons of bitches are all about money. It’s true,” he said.

Aside from President Duterte's slamming Inquirer and ABS-CBN, veteran broadcast journalist Ben Tulfo also made a commentary slamming the two major news outlets in the Philippines.
