Veteran broadcaster and journalist Erwin Tulfo discussed in one of his radio program the alleged rumors involving the controversial votes of Pres. Rody Duterte during the last presidential elections. According to rumors Pres. Duterte got at least 21 million votes instead of the official 16 million votes but Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista denied the rumors.

Rumors spreading online stating that Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista visited Malacañang Palace to talked with President Rody Duterte. Part of the alleged conversation is that the Comelec Chairman admitted to the President that his 16 million votes was not the real results instead it should be 21 million votes.

Due to the virality of the rumors spreading like wildfire on social media, Erwin Tulfo talked to Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista to get some clarifications of the issue.

Chairman Bautista confirmed to Erwin Tulfo that he indeed visited Pres. Duterte in Malacañang Palace but denied the rumors that he talked to the President about the controversial 21 million votes.


The rumors about the 21 million votes, although the election was already over and Pres. Duterte overwhelming won the presidential race, supporters of former Sen. Bongbong Marcos wanted to investigate the issue because if the rumors were true, there could be some possibilities that Sen. Marcos also won the Vice Presidential race.

According to Erwin Tulfo, the Vice President of the Philippines, VP Leni Robredo should not questioned the legitimacy of the re-count for the Vice Presidential Race because if she truly won the election it will come out in the open once PET approved the recount.
