$6 Billion Alloted by Chinese Government to Pres. Duterte's Administration


The Chinese National government allotted a total of $6 Billion to help the administration of President Duterte on the government's efforts to put the Philippines in the world map of infrastructure development.


The allocated amounts was already in the bag of China's 3rd Vice Premier Wang Yang who visited the hometown of Pres. Rody Duterte. According to some sources from Malacanang, the amount includes agreements for agriculture exports to China and loans for infrastructure development projects such as railways and hydroelectric drums.

China's Premier Wang Yang enjoyed his four-day visit meeting Pres. Rody Duterte and other top Philippine officials and businessmen.

Mr. Yang also visited the officials of the Davao Airport Project, which aims to upgrade the capability of Francisco Bangoy International Airport. It can be recalled that the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Davao Region has proposed for the development of another modern airport facility in the region. 
 

In separate news by Mindanao Daily Mirror the Chinese are primarily involved in several projects in Davao City relating to renewable energy, infrastructure projects such as roads, highways and bridges, wast supply system development, sewerage systems, reclamation and others.

The Chinese government are also planning to build two hydropower sites, a 140 MW Hydropower Plants with target area at Calinan District and a 30 MW Hydroelectric Power Plant at Marilog Districts, all in Davao City.

Aside from China's project in Davao City, they are also planning to finance other major projects such as the Panay-Guimaras-Negros Bridge Project. The $3.01-billion south line of the North-South Railway and the $374.03-million New Centennial Water Source-Kaliwa dam project in Quezon province are also eyed to be financed by the Chinese.

During the four-day visit of Mr. Yang they visited and inspected Sta. Ana Pier, which is part of the proposed Coastline and Port Development project, and briefing on other proposed projects such as the Davao City Expressway and the Mindanao Railway.

Recent developments also noted that the first phase of Mindanao Railway Project will run through Davao Region, a major change to the original plan which first phase covers Misamis Oriental and Lanao del Norte areas. The Chinese already promised P218-Billion for the railway project.
