Former Senator Bongbong Marcos to be Appointed as DILG Secretary Soon Under Pres. Duterte

Former senator and Vice Presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is soon to be appointed as Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) as a replacement to Sec. Ismael Sueno.

According to some sources, the son of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., Sen. Bongbong Marcos is set to return to the political scene as the new head of DILG. Some of the most prominent politicians in the country who served as DILG Secretary became an influential figure in the national scene.

According to the sources of Politiko, Pres. Rody Duterte is now making preparations for Sen. Marcos' entry into the Cabinet after the ban on appointing losing candidates in the May 2016 elections expires.

Once Sen. Marcos will served as Interior Secretary under the Duterte administration, he will wield tremendous influence on local politicians and the national governments.

During the previous administration of Pres. Aquino, it was widely believed that Mar Roxas was named as DILG Secretary to cultivate relationships with local politicians and to advance his presidential ambitions.

Netizens were quick to react with the recent developments in the political career of the former Governor of Ilocos Norte. Some supporters of Sen. Marcos noted that he is now in a win-win situation, because once he failed on his protest against VP Leni, he will still hold a very special and powerful position in the Cabinet of Pres. Duterte.

As an Interior Secretary under the Duterte admin, Sen. Bongbong Marcos would be responsible for promoting peace and order, ensuring public safety and strengthening local government facility nationwide.
