Columnist Slams Jim Paredes for Meddling in Philippine Affairs Despite Being an Australian Citizen


A veteran columnist of The Manila Times, Rigoberto Tiglao slammed the outspoken former APO Hiking Society member, Jim Paredes to whom the columnist described as a "great pretender."


In the latest article written by the former Arroyo Cabinet Secretary Tiglao, he was quoted as saying "A big fan of Aquino, Jim Paredes, pretends to be concerned about the nation, when in his middle-aged years, he chooses to be an Australian."


Jim Paredes is among the personalities who is said to be a staunch supporter of the Liberal Party of the Philippines. The notable APO member recently made a scornful comments to Pres. Duterte as he stated "P---ina mo rin! Account for every cent we pay. Don't spend it on trips with hangers on who join for the junket. Do not use OUR money on TROLLS. Do not spend a cent on your kabits."

The statement of Jim Paredes was his response to Pres. Rody Duterte's accusations hitting billionaires in the Philippines for not paying the correct amount of taxes.

For the past few months, the APO member, Jim Paredes is always visible in various gatherings of the Liberal Party, he was also present during the endorsement of Mar Roxas to run for President.

Jim Paredes admitted in some interviews earlier that he moved to Australia with his family in 1998 - when then-Pres. Erap Estrada assumed office - because he had given up on the Philippines.

Netizens already assumed the Jim Paredes is no longer a Filipino but in 2014 interview with the Philippine Star he clarified that he's living alone in the Philippines now, while his family ares still in Australia.
