In an interview with the media, Sen. Drilon denied the involvement of the Liberal Party which was allegedly part of the plan to unseat President Rody Duterte.
Sen. Franklin Drilon was quoted as saying "This is all crap. You can quote me on that," he said when reporters sought for reaction on the so-called #LeniLeaks controversy that caught social media by storm after the expose of Thinking Pinoy and Sass Rogando Sasot.
The former Chief Justice added further that "We are not doing anything (to oust Duterte)," Drilon added. Sen. Drilon who is the party mate of VP Leni Robredo scoffed at Malacañang’s plan to probe the issue, saying it should not give serious consideration on a series of leaked emails which appeared online.
Sen. Drilon even lambasts the veracity of the LeniLeaks report as he noted that "Because certainly, if this is something that is serious, it should not appear in social media in the first place, hindi ba? you know, being logical about it, if it's serious, do you think it should be in social media?" he asked.
The senator who garnered the most number of votes during the senatorial election suggested that Malacañang should be selective in choosing its battles since credible destabilization plots are not broadcast on social media.
