Pres. Duterte Burns Rappler's Pia Ranada Challenge the Journalist to Join Police Operations


Pres. Rody Duterte personally challenge and burns Pia Ranada's questions during January 29 press conference in Malacanang as he challenge the Rappler journalist to join various Police operations to witness first hand the real actions when the PNP conducts anti-drug operations.


According to the President he wanted some members of the media, who has been accused for the past months as biased journalist, to cover the drug raids to prevent more misinterpretation of the drug war.

Rappler's Pia Ranada, one of the most favorite reporter of Pres. Rody Duterte because of her alleged biases against the President, was challenged by the tough-talking President to be the first to join the anti-drug operations so she can be a first hand witness of the real thing.

"Mag raid sila, tawagan niyo ang media, sabi ko nga sa kanila wag niyong kalimutang tawagin si Pia (to cover the drug raids) mahili yan. Ikaw ang unang samahin nila.... para makita mo yung aksyon" Pres. Duterte told Pia Ranada.

According to Pres. Rody Duterte if funds will be available he wanted to provide cameras for the police officers as well as the journalists who is ready to cover he dangerous drug raid. The President wanted to remove the doubts of the people because when someone was killed in the streets, people always thought that the victims is summarily executed.

Pres. Duterte was quoted as saying "Para walain nating yung (takot)... let's do away f this... every time that there's a dead guy... doon sa tabulation ng mga istupido.. EJK kaaga... sira ba ang ulo niyo... wala bang patayan sa galit?" President Duterte said.

The harsh statements of Pres. Duterte came after Pia Ranada keeps on insisting about the supposed deadline set by the President to suppress the illegal drug trades in the country, instead of asking other relevant questions about the press conference's topics.

Pres. Duterte said the he don't want to give his administration any deadline on the War on Drugs because only when he became President that he realized the real magnitude of the drug problem in the Philippines.

As of January 24 a total of 1.1 million Filipinos surrendered to authorities sine the start of Pres. Duterte's war on drugs. The PNP also conducted a total of 6.8 million number of houses visited through Oplan Tokhang.
