SWS Survey: Duterte Admin Receives 66% Positive Ratings in the First 3 Months of Office


The administration of President Rody Duterte received a +66 percent net satisfaction rating for their first three months of office which is way better compared to the first three months of Pres. Aquino.


Based upon the survey results conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) Pres. Duterte's rating for the first three months is higher compared to the +64 ratings received by Pres. Aquino while Pres. Arroyo only got +27 on her first three months of office.

Amid criticisms from various Anti-Duterte supporters and non-believers of Duterte with the help of some bias national media, Pres. Duterte was able to score a positive ratings from the Filipino public who believed and supported the President's war on drugs.

According to SWS, the initial satisfaction ratings of Pres. Rody Duterte is considered as "very good" in the first three months with high marks on campaign against narcotics and promoting human rights.


The SWS survey was conducted from September 24 to 27, 2016, once the results are compared to the previous administration's ratings, President Duterte is very ahead in terms of numbers.

During the first three months of former President Joseph Estrada he received +17, Pres. Fidel Ramos received +32, and Pres. Cory Aquino got +23. The first three months of Pres. Rody Duterte is considered as the highest positive ratings of the country's chief executive.

Based upon the survey results conducted by SWS and media partner BusinessWorld, the net positive 66 satisfaction ratings was based on the results of 75% satisfaction rating of the Duterte admin, 8 percent dissatisfied, and 17 percent undecided.

The Duterte administration got a +78 rating or excellent in the campaign against illegal drugs and +63 percent or very good for promoting human rights. Pres. Duterte admin also got very good marks on helping the poor (+63), promoting the welfare of OFWs (+62), fighting crimes (+58), eradicating graft and corruptions (+57), fighting terrorism (+55), defending the country's territorial rights (+53), and distributing lands to deserving tillers (+53).

SWS and BusinessWorld reported that 1,200 adults were polled for the September 24-27 survey which had a sampling error margin of ±3 points.
