Under Pres. Duterte Philippines GDP Grows 7.1% in Q3, Now Fastest in Asia


The Philippines under the leadership of President Rody Duterte made a positive improvements as the country's Gross Domestic Products grows 7.1% in the third quarter of this year.


The growing GDP of the Philippines is considered by most businessmen as a sign of steady growth of the Philippines despite the negative news often posted by some bias news media organizations in the country.

According to the report of the Philippine Statistics Authority, with the projected population reaching 103.5 million in the third quarter of 2015, per capita GDP grew by 5.3 percent and per capita gross national income by 4.6 percent."


The PSA noted that "These are both higher than the respective growth of 4.4 percent and 4.5 percent in 2015," the statistics office stated.

Records shows that the country's agriculture sector which is now headed by the industrious Cabinet member Sec. Manny Pinol rebounded by 2.9 percent in July to September, after five consecutive quarters of contraction during the Aquino administration.

The third quarter GDP increase under the Duterte administration was in line with the 6.3 to 7.3 percent forecast by the NEDA and higher than the 7 percent second quarter GDP during the Aquino admin. The third quarter GDP under Pres. Duterte topped the 6.2 percent recorded in the third quarter of 2015.

The PSA added further that "Growth in investments for durable equipment remained strong. Private sector investments in construction grew significantly by 16.3 percent this quarter compared to last year's 4.0 percent. Public investment in infrastructure remained strong, with public construction expanding by over 20 percent for the third quarter," the PSA noted.
