Sen. De Lima Reveals Reasons on Her Second Walk Out from Senate Hearing (Video)


Sen. Leila De Lima revealed the reasons behind her controversial walk out from the Senate hearing on extra-judicial killing after being accused by the Justice Committee Chairman Richard Gordon of "material concealment" of evidence.


In an ambushed interview with the media, the controversial senator who claimed that there is no "material concealment" on her part because his witness Edgar Matobato already disclosed during the Sept. 15 hearing about the case filed against him by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Sen De Lima also stated during he ambushed interview on her walk out for second time that all she wants was an apology form the Justice Committee chairman Dick Gordon but Sen. Gordon did not apologize. Sen. Gordon even noted that Sen. De Lima was so meek before but after her ally Sen. Trillanes arrived she started to melt down.

The 57-year-old senator also took offense at "insinuations" that she and Sen. Trillanes purposely allowed witness Edgar Matobato to leave the Senate as Davao police began their testimony.

Sen. Gordon ordered Matobato to return to the Senate but a staff of Sen. Trillanes informed the chairman that Matobato already left the Philippine Senate building. Sen. Dick Gordon was quoted as saying "I feel very much betrayed by it. Not just by Mr. Matobato but our fellow senators as well," said Gordon.
