According to Sec. Dominguez, both Asian heavyweights are interested on building out the southern Province of Mindanao. The island of Mindanao is home to half of the country's mineral wealth, including copper, gold, iron, aluminum in addition to significant natural gas and oil deposits.
A 2011 leaked cable from the United States Embassy in Manila which was released by Wikileaks shows that the untapped resources in Mindanao could be worth as much as $1 trillion.

During the first ever state visit of President Rody Duterte in China he was able to score a total of $24 billion worth of funding and investment opportunities from the Chinese government as well as private companies from China.

President Rody Duterte also made a state visit to Japan recently bringing with him billions of investments from the government and various companies based in Japan. Toyota and Mitsubishi had a combined investments of $1.85 billion and a banana supply contract worth P5-billion was signed by Agriculture Sec. Manny Pinol and a company in Japan.

The island of Mindanao could bring the Philippines back to its former glory as one of Asia's most progressive country,  after so many years of waiting for someone with the political will to lead the country, Pres. Duterte saved everything for good of the Filipino people.

Mindanao is the second largest island in the Philippines and home to more than 21 million Filipinos and could produced some of the world's most expensive mineral resources waiting to be tapped that will bring glory to the Philippines.
