The P23.2-billion deal to build, operate, and maintain the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road was already secured by the Metro Pacific Tollway Development Corporation (MPTDC), an MPIC Unit last July. There was no comparative proposals submitted to the DPWH when MPIC submitted their proposals.

The construction of the NLEX-SLEX Road Connector would link C-3 in Caloocan City to the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Based upon the national government's Public-Private Partnership Center, the project would run above the lines of the Philippine National Railways.

The construction of the very important connector road will be implemented in the next few months after the national government announced that the deal will be scheduled from November 2016 to February 2022.
