Yancy de Ocampo-Yousef Taha trade officially happens but five players were added in a three-team,seven player trade

A Yancy de Ocampo-Yousef Taha trade officially happened Tuesday but a lot of players were added.

GlobalPorts' Nico Salva, Ronnie Matias
and Bonbon Custodio were thrown into the mix along with Barako Bull's Ronjay Buenafe and San Mig's Val Acuna in the de Ocampo and Taha trade as part of a three-team, seven-player swap.

The said trade was approved by the PBA Commissioner's Office on Tuesday night.

Spin.ph first reported the trade on Monday and was finally completed by GlobalPort, starting with a straight swap that brought Matias and the
sophomore journeyman Taha to San Mig for veteran big man De Ocampo and the seldom-used Acuna.

GlobalPort then made the second move of the deal with Barako Bull, by shifting rookie big man Salva and veteran guard Custodio to the Energy for Buenafe and a future second round pick.

Sources revealed that Matias and Acuna were added to the package on the request of San Mig.

San Mig Coffee is dead serious in its bid for a Grand Slam as it beefs up its frontline and the players that they get can add some firepower to an already deep bench.

While, Taha and Matias are no strangers to being traded. Taha, in just his second year in the league, has now been traded five times, having spent times with Air 21, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, GlobalPort, Petron/San Miguel Beer, a second stint with GlobalPort, before being shipped to the Mixers.

Matias has been traded twice previously this season. After beginning the season with Rain or Shine, he was sent in a deal to Air 21, who in turn dealt him to GlobalPort.

The three-team, seven player trade was approved by PBA commissioner Chito Salud.

Buenafe was still playing what turned out to be his last game for Barako Bull against Ginebra on Tuesday night when the trade was finalized.

The recently completed trade might trigger other teams to swap players especially the struggling once who will add some firepowers that could save their campaigns in the season-ending Governor's Cup and will ultimately help them make the Playoffs.
