Siot Tanquingcen is set to replace Bong Ramos as Barako Bull head coach

Coach Bong Ramos' status as coach of the Barako Bull has always been complicated, from being the head coach but was behind to former active consultant Rajko Toroman and to being the full-time coach in the Philippine Cup.

Until the 2014 PBA Commissioner's Cup, Ramos has still the top tactician job after Toroman was relieved prior to the Philippine Cup.
But after the conference, the fate of Ramos as coach has taken a big blow after he has been relieved as Barako Bull coach in the Philippine Basketball Association at the end of the Commissioner's Cup, a SPIN.ph source said.
Ramos was relieved after Barako Bull failed to advance to the Playoffs with a dismal 2-7 win-loss record, good only for ninth place in the ten-team tournament.
The George Chua-owned ballclub has yet to make a formal announcement but persons with knowledge of the situation said Ramos has already been informed of management's decision.
The same sources said Siot Tanquingcen, the former Ginebra and San Miguel coach, is set to be elevated to the coaching position after serving as team manager the past campaign.
Under Ramos, Barako Bull played above expectations and made the quarterfinals of the last Philippine Cup, where it finished with a 5-9 record but was ousted in two games by Petron in a best-of-three series.
Barako Bull failed to make the Playoffs despite impressive numbers from explosive import Joshua Dollard in the Commissioner's Cup that almost help them make it to the Playoffs.
However, two crucial late losses to GlobalPort and Meralco - where the Energy blew a 22-point lead - knocked them out of contention for the playoffs.
Barako Bull officials were unavailable for comments regarding the firing of Ramos and the appointment of Tanquincen as the new head coach.
