Fajardo's former side kick Brian Heruela set eyes on the pro rank, confirms entry in this year's draft

While many people witnessed the emergence of University of Cebu standout Junemar Fajardo, who was adjudged as the Best Player of the Conference in the Philippine Cup, only few noticed that there is also a fast-rising star playmaker in the PBA D-League.

But did you know that he was Fajardo's side kick during their time in the said university?

When Fajardo left UC, Quinton Brian Heruela almost single-handedly carried the Webmasters.

D-League standout

Now that he is showing his skills in the developmental league, where he is currently the point guard of Big Chill, Heruela is now ready to show his staffs in the pro ranks.

The Cebuano guard, on January's D-league's race for Best Player in the Conference, even ranks third in the race for the Best Player of the Conference in the last conference's Aspirants Cup.

According to the statistics that were tallied just before the league took its holiday break before, the 5-foot-10  alumnus of the University of Cebu Webmasters had 31.10 statistical points after 11 games.

Heruela,as of January, was leading the league in the assists and steals departments with averages of 8.1 and 2.5, respectively. He is also tallying 8.1 points and 5.8 rebounds and is one of the main reasons behind Big Chill’s  10-1 (win-loss) start.

Heruela is just a breath behind, Rod Ebondo of the CafĂ© France Bakers, who has 32.56 SPs, and NLEX’s resident gunner Garvo Lanete, who has 31.40 SPs.

He helped Big Chill reached the Finals but were outworked by the heavy-favorite in NLEX in a two-game sweep.
