The Universal Health Care Act of 2013 was already signed into law by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Aquino.
The Republic Act 106016 or the Universal Health Care Act amends the previous PhilHealth Coverage. It will provide mandatory health care for all Filipinos.
The RA 106016 amends the law on PhilHealth to expand the coverage to other sectors such as the poorest of the poor, abandoned children, persons with disabilities, and those who are not regularly employed.
The budget will be taken from the income generated from the Sin Tax Law.
